It’s easy to sell your items at SimpleTrade! It only involves 3 steps!

 

1. Place your ad on SimpleTrade
2. Potential buyers contacts you via email or phone
3. Meet with the buyer in person for the exchange (highly recommended). Alternatively, the buyer puts in money into your bank account and you send him / her the goods.

In order for you to sell your advertised items as quickly as possible, here are some tips to make your ad more attractive to potential buyers and make it stand out in the crowd.

When placing an ad on SimpleTrade, remember to… 

Make it relevant

Place your ad under the category that best describes your item or service. If you believe that there is an item category that we are missing, please let us know and help us improve our service. 

Make the most of your item title 

Make the headline descriptive and enticing to capture attention, and try to include keywords that potential buyers will search for, such as the brand or any specific feature of the item. Your ad title is crucial as it is the first impression the buyer gets from your ad, so make it desirable and don’t forget to check your spelling.

Include photos

A picture says more than 1000 words! Use clear, well-lit photos from multiple angles to accurately showcase your item. Good lighting and an uncluttered background makes the item look even more appealing! Also add additional photos that highlight specific details and unique features that make your item special. 

Portray your item in detail 

A well described ad that convinces the buyer is succinct, well organised and easy to read. Specify the items unique features, condition, style/ type/ model, brand, size, age, colour, and other attributes worth mentioning. Use the provided fields to fill in information such as price, year and mileage. And don’t forget - always be honest about the items condition! 

Communicate 

Always respond quickly to enquiries to avoid missing out on an opportunity to sell your item. Also remember that the potential buyers are actually your customers, so try to delight them!

Tips for safe trading!

We want your SimpleTrade experience to be as fun, easy and secure as possible. As security is the most vital aspect for your experience to be perceived as positive, listed below are some simple precautions you can take to increase your safety when trading online. The following advice applies to all kinds of trading situations:

Never pay in advance to a seller that you do not know, and never send the item before you have received the payment. Instead, try to meet in person to make the exchange. 

Never use money wire transfers, such as Western Union, as these are often difficult to trace.

Request the original receipt. 

Write a purchase agreement. 

If the offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is, and it might be a fraud. 

Do not reveal bank details or other sensitive information if you are not sure who the receiver is. 

Do not engage in trade with people from overseas.

General rules and information 

• All goods and services advertised must conform to current laws and regulations in Australia.

• Only ads in English are allowed. 

• Simple Trade reserves the right to approve, or reject, and in some cases edit, all ads placed on Simple Trade, without prior consultation.

• Simple Trade is not involved in the actual transaction between buyer and seller. Therefore,

• Simple Trade does not carry any responsibility over buyers and sellers property.

• Simple Trade makes no representations or warranties concerning the quality or legality of the items sold or purchased through Simple Trade.

Don’t… 

• Place ads for pure marketing purposes without offering a concrete good or service.
 
• Place ads containing porn, nudity or other inappropriate material. 

• Place ads containing financial advice or recommendations regarding securities.

• Place ads that could be offensive to an individual or public person, or to an ethnic group. 

• Place more than one version of the same ad.

• Advertise "make money fast" business proposals or pyramid selling schemes. Concrete, well-explained "work from home" businesses might be allowed, but these types of services are usually not accepted as ads.

• Use an irrelevant picture in your ad. The picture you submit should have an obvious relation to your ad and the item you wish to sell.

• Please make sure that the picture is not copyrighted (unless by yourself).

• Make references to other websites in the ad headline, unless you are a SimpleTrade online store owner and your ad is representing your company. 

• Place items clearly belonging to different product categories in the same ad. 

• Place too many items in the same ad, except when the items are identical. If there is more than one item, please state how many items there are in the ad text or headline. Larger items, such as vehicles or houses, should always be placed in separate ads.

Link or refer your ad to other online advertisement / classifieds sites, without our expressed permission.
