Placing ads on SimpleTrade
How do I create a SimpleTrade account (MyAccount)?
Simply click on Register on the homepage, and fill in the required details.
If you wish to place an ad at the same time, click on Place an Ad and follow the easy instructions.
How do I place additional ads on the SimpleTrade site after I’ve already created an account?
To place more ads, simply sign in to MyAccount from SimpleTrade’s homepage. In MyAccount, click on Sell an Item or Want an Item in the left hand column.
How do I edit my ad, mark it as “sold” or remove it?
It’s easy to make changes to any of your ads. Sign in to MyAccount and on the Dashboard Home you’ll find an overview of all your ads and the option to Edit, Mark as sold and Delete.
For example, if you wish to edit your ad, click on the applicable button, make the changes, then click Submit.
What is the “Watchlist”?
The Watchlist is a simple tool you can use to gather in one place all the items you are interested in when browsing on SimpleTrade.
The items you’ve added to your Watchlist will be visible in the Mini Dashboard on all pages whilst you are signed in, as well as in Dashboard Home.
How do I add items to my “Watchlist”?
When you find an item of interest that you wish to take a closer look at later on, click on the Watchlist icon in the top right corner of the ad. The ad will now display in your Mini Dashboard on the lower left side of the screen.
How do I retrieve my password?
On the homepage, click on the “Forgot your password?” link in the MyAccount sign in section, and a new password will be sent to your email address.
To change your password, sign in to MyAccount and click on Edit my Details in the column on the left hand side.
How do I know that my ad has been activated?
You will receive a receipt by email as soon as your ad is activated. Also, in MyAccount the ad’s status will show “Live” (if the ad isn’t yet activated the status will show “Pending”).
For how long will my ad show on SimpleTrade before it expires?
Your ad will display on SimpleTrade for one month. If your item hasn’t sold within that time you have the option to re-list the ad for another month.
We will send a reminder to your email address when your ad is about to expire.
My ad is about to expire, but the item hasn’t yet sold. Do I have to place a new ad?
No, you don’t have to place a new ad. Instead, sign in to MyAccount, click on the “Re-list” button next to the expiring ad, and it will list as new.

Is it safe to trade via SimpleTrade?
Yes. Buying and selling with SimpleTrade is very safe if you apply the “Tips for safe trading” listed below.
How do I protect myself from fraud and scams?
Tips for safe trading!
- The following advice applies to all types of trading situations:
- Never pay in advance to a seller you do not know, and never send the item before you have received the payment. Instead, try to meet in person to make the exchange.
- Never use money wire transfers such as Western Union as they are often difficult to trace.
- Using PayPal is a safe way to transfer money, without revealing any of your sensitive details. See www.paypal.com.au for information about making and receiving payments.
- Request the original receipt.
- Write a purchase agreement.
- If the offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is and it might be fraudulent.
- Do not reveal bank details or other sensitive information if you are not sure who the receiver is.
- Do not engage in trade with people from overseas. The SimpleTrade site is for use only within Australia.

How do I upgrade my Online Store to place a larger number of ads?

What does it cost to set up an Online Store?
The price for an Online Store starts at only $49 per month. You can build on the functionality of your Store by selecting additional features to suit your budget.
