Would you like to spend your weekend with knights and vikings? Are you interested in getting some experience, doing something fun and meeting new people, or contributing to the community? If any of those sound like you, then the 2011 Abbey Medieval Festival is the perfect opportunity!
A finalist in the 2010 Queensland Tourism Awards, the Abbey Medieval Festival attracts more than 20 000 people a year. Festival goers enjoy a range of exciting events, from the Kids Medieval Fun Day, the Medieval Banquet, and the major Tournament weekend. The Festival is held to raise funds for the Abbey Museum of Art and Archaeology, a not-for-profit museum with a large collection that spans 250,000 years of human existence.
Without its enthusiastic and cheerful volunteers, the event would not have become Australia's premier medieval festival. From the medieval tavern, to the entertainment venues, and entry gate, there is something that everyone can do!
