Features: K&K Sound Pure Western Mini pickup installed, Hard shell case, Solid Spruce top, Solid Indian Rosewood back and sides, 3 piece back, bone saddle, freshly strung with Elixir 11-52 Nanowebs.
This really is a great guitar. It is setup beautifully and plays like a dream. The sound is rich and full typical of Martins but the 3 piece back provides a bit of extra punch to the bass and lots of volume. Intonation is perfect all the way up the neck. It is in excellent condition all round. There are only tiny signs of play wear that are very hard to photograph. Fret wear is minimal, plenty of life left in them.
The pickup does a great job of reproducing the sound. I mainly played it at church through a Sonic Maximiser or just plugged straight into the PA. Because it's a passive pickup it doesn't need batteries and being a soundboard transducer it doesn't get the 'quack' of undersaddle transducers.
Reason for sale is just that I have too many guitars! If I could justify keeping it I would. I'm happy for you to come and have a play if you live close by, you won't be disappointed. Pickup is from the Central Coast.
There are plenty of good reviews of HD-35's out there, here's some on Harmony Central http://www.harmonycentral.com/products/47150
Also here's some good reviews of the pickup: http://sonicwavefactory.com/kksound/purewesternreviews.htm
