Genuine, detailed hand carved mask made by local tribesmen from the Sepik River region. Made from softwood and painted with earth pigments and charcoal. Originally adorned with twine and shells, unfortunately, they have not lasted throughout the years.
In excellent condition and measures 38cm x 15cm.
Brought back by my father in 1942 who was based in New Guinea during WW2.
